Website has more than 5,000 books in the catalog, spanning all Christian publishers. There are thousands of Novel Crossing members currently signed up through Novel Crossing.
Responsibilities: Site content mapping and concept, secured bids for site build out, contracted with and coordinated with Rainstorm Technologies, who developed the site and The Tenfold Collective, who designed the site.

Overview: Custom program designed to give free books to bloggers in exchange for a review on their blog, a retailer website and on BloggingForBooks.org. Over 10,000 bloggers participating and more than 23,000 reviews posted.
Responsibilities: Put together original scope document, secured bids from web developers, chose web developer and designer for the project, partnered with Random House IT to integrate data points with program, partnered with Edelweiss to provide eBooks with DRM protection to bloggers, currently managing the roll up of the program to our parent imprint, Crown Publishing.

Overview: I joined the WaterBrook Multnomah team in October 2008 to help them establish a strong online marketing presence in the Christian publishing industry. We recently relaunched WaterBrook's web site, adding direct to consumer sales, Wordpress management capabilities, several new online programs, Live streaming author broadcasts using Livestream.com, and enhanced database functionality.
I am also proud to say that of all the Christian publishers out there, WaterBrook has the largest Facebook fan pages and one of the most robust Twitter pages as well.
Responsibilities: Project management, site ownership, content management, email creation, distribution and database management.

Overview: Penton partnered
with Job
Target to provide several turn-key job board sites to
our vast array of audiences. This site helps connects IT
Pros, Developers, and web designers with open positions
in the IT industry. Employers can pay to post open positions
and view resumes. They can also pay for priority placement
of their positions. Job seekers can post their resumes,
search jobs and set up e-mail job alerts. Job seekers can
also pay to have their resume placed at the top of the list.
Responsibilities: Naming,
branding, marketing and messaging, advertising and integration
with current sites.

Overview: Web-based tool
that allows users to create custom HTML e-newsletters in
minutes and bring in magazine articles from Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine into their newsletters. Free for
user group leaders. Also a paid, subscription-based program
Penton is selling to companies like Microsoft.
Responsibilities: Concept,
page layout, product development, marketing, branding, advertising
& sales.

Overview: These sites are the online counterpart
to the print magazines for Windows IT Pro Magazine and SQL
Server Magazine. With more than 2,000,000 unique visitors
each month, this site attracts IT Pro's from around the
globe, providing them with articles, forums, and answers
to their technical questions.
Responsibilities: Currently overseeing
redesign and coordination of implementing Dot Net Nuke. Redesign
scheduled for fall 2008. Worked to refine marketing messages
on the e-commerce pages which resulted in an increase of
200-500% of certain products during the first three months
after tweaking order forms. Also working on refining registration
process, triggered e-mails, and search engine optimization. |

Internal SharePoint Site
(March 2008-Oct. 2008)

Overview: Penton built a large SharePoint
site for the entire company to use. We can then—in
turn—create "micro" SharePoint sites that
fall under the larger internal SharePoint site. This site
is a place for all employees at the Loveland branch to upload
and share files, share calendars, create approval processes
for manuscripts and other documents (and so much more).
Responsibilities: Worked with corporate
developers to create the site based on my recommendations.
Template was created and turned over to me to then "build"
and then turn over to the branch to populate and use on
a daily basis. Created graphics and branding for the site.
Marketed the site internally as well as created a video
to demonstrate how to use the tools on the site. |

Overview: Corporate Web site created to
sell tens of thousands of books, curriculum, videos, cd's
and other media-related products.
Responsibilities: Managed public relations
site; uploading press releases, fact sheets and other media-related
content. Redesigned corporate "About
Us" section. Helped to push company towards the
use of business intelligence on their store pages. |

"Flipper"

(August 2006-May 2007)
Overview: Internal collaboration site
designed to reduce company overhead while increasing inter-departmental
communication. Site was built on a .NET platform and syncs
nightly with Oracle in order to help track product inventories.
Sales people use the tool to search for products, check
inventory levels, download pre-built HTML e-mails, locate
marketing managers, and much (much) more.
Responsibilities: Developed idea, pitched
idea to management and gained funding, interviewed members
from each department to refine concept, worked with outside
contractors and internal IT team to develop program, designed
template and logo, launched program, trained managers on
how to populate the program and trained sales and marketing
staff on how to access and use the tool. Cost to develop
program: $15,000. Estimated cost savings in the first 12
months: $500,000 to $1,000,000.

general, corporate-level information as well as a MAC-based
e-commerce platform
Responsibilities: Hired as the web developer
to create three sites for each branch (JAX's "Outdoor"
branches in Fort Collins and Ames, Iowa and JAX's "Farm
& Ranch" store in Fort Collins.) Designed and developed
all sites, took pictures, wrote articles, launched online
store, developed lead generation program to capture customer
contact information, marketed sites, and enhanced search
engine optimization (SEO) that gained JAX top ten spots
in for dozens of critical search terms. |

Overview: This was one of the first Web
sites I ever created. As the final exam for my JT372 class
at Colorado State University, this project garnered me an
easy "A" and launched me into a career focused
on using the web to communicate and increase profits.
Added helpful sections on how to choose windows, differences
in glass types and other helpful articles that not only
helped our customers make sound purchasing decisions, it
also increased site traffic through search engine optimization.
